Job summary

Middleby Australia is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Bender in Sydney to manufacture sheet metal components to specification and support production targets in a safe, efficient manner.

The role requires reading technical drawings, setting up and operating Turret Punch and Brake Press machines, and conducting ongoing quality checks. You will work with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain high quality in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience operating Turret Punch and Brake Press is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Turret Punch and Brake Press machines safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up machinery and tooling for production runs.
• Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Identify and report defects, machine faults, or production issues.
• Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks during production.
• Assist with fabrication, assembly, and handling of sheet metal products.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine machine checks.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets.
• Complete other duties as directed by the Production Manager.
