Job summary

GHD in Australia is seeking two SESA Engineers to join our collaborative team and contribute to some of the nation’s most significant infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with experienced practitioners across Australia and our global network to develop expertise in systems engineering, safety assurance, requirements management, verification and validation, risk management and systems integration, while supporting successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Engineering or Science.
• Experience in systems engineering or assurance disciplines.
• Awareness of industry standards and assurance processes such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, EN 50126/50128/50129, IEC 61508, AS 4292 and AS/NZS 45001.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of systems assurance and systems engineering activities across major infrastructure projects.
• Conduct requirements development and management, systems integration, verification and validation planning, and assurance processes.
• Contribute to risk, hazard and safety assessments.
• Support multidisciplinary project teams to identify and manage technical and operational risks.
• Work independently and own SE deliverables and technical reports, assurance documentation and project deliverables.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts across Australia and GHD's global network.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we’re looking for two SESA Engineers to join our collaborative team and contribute to some of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced practitioners across Australia and our global network, you’ll develop your expertise across systems engineering, safety assurance, requirements management, verification and validation, risk management and systems integration, while supporting the successful delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects across Rail, Aviation, Maritime and Defence environments, helping clients navigate complexity, manage risk and deliver infrastructure systems that perform safely and effectively throughout their lifecycle. This position would be ideal for an engineer looking for an increase in responsibility to independently deliver SE support to our projects at GHD. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Supporting the delivery of systems assurance and systems engineering activities across major infrastructure projects.
• Requirements development and management, systems integration activities, verification and validation planning, and assurance processes.
• Contributing to risk, hazard and safety assessments.
• Supporting multidisciplinary project teams to identify and manage technical and operational risks.
• Working independently and taking ownership of SE deliverables and tasks, including technical reports, assurance documentation and project deliverables.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts across Australia and GHD's global network.

What would you bring to the team?

• Experience in systems engineering, systems assurance, safety assurance, or a related technical discipline.
• A degree qualification in Engineering or Science.
• Appreciation of systems engineering and assurance principles across complex infrastructure or operational environments.
• Awareness of relevant industry standards, frameworks and assurance processes such as including ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129, IEC 61508, AS 4292 and AS/NZS 45001.
• Experience using relevant engineering, requirements management, modelling, analysis or assurance software tools, such as Relatics, DOORS and DOORS Next
• Initiative, communication and stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced practitioners while contributing your own expertise.
• A desire to grow into roles requiring leadership and deliver complex systems engineering outcomes
