Job summary

HammondCare Waratah is seeking a Part Time Weekend Cook to join our main kitchen, catering for 232 residents. You will support the delivery of high-quality meals within the aged care environment, working Saturdays and Sundays 06:30am–3:00pm.

Experience cooking for large numbers in a commercial kitchen is essential; familiarity with The vulnerable persons guidelines for food safety and safe manual handling is desired.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in cooking for large numbers in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Have an understanding of The vulnerable persons guidelines for food safety or willingness to learn and incorporate these into your everyday work routine.
• Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals.

Responsibilities

• Support the MAIN KITCHEN operations at the Waratah facility, catering for 232 residents.
• Prepare and cook meals for large numbers in a high-volume kitchen.
• Maintain food safety standards in line with guidelines.
• Work Saturdays and Sundays 06:30am–3:00pm.
