Job summary

Snowy River Caravans in Somerton, VIC is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Service Centre, manage workshop operations, technicians and support staff while driving productivity and customer satisfaction.

You will ensure repairs are completed safely and to high quality standards, monitor parts and costs, and drive KPIs such as labour and gross profit for a busy RV service operation.

Qualifications

• Experience as Service Manager or similar role.
• Caravan/RV or automotive industry experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching ability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong planning, scheduling and organisational capability.
• Commercial awareness with KPIs and financial performance.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Service Centre.
• Schedule and allocate work across technicians to maximise productivity.
• Lead, coach and develop technicians and support staff.
• Monitor workshop workflow, productivity and job completion.
• Manage customer enquiries, updates, complaints and escalations.
• Keep customers informed of repair progress, costs and completion times.
• Conduct quality control checks and minimise rework.
• Ensure warranty repairs and pre-delivery work meet OEM and company quality standards.
• Monitor parts requirements and stock availability to minimise delays.
• Manage departmental costs, revenue and profitability.
• Drive KPIs including labour sales, parts sales, productivity, efficiency and gross profit.
• Ensure compliance with WH&S and industry requirements.
• Oversee final vehicle preparation and quality prior to customer delivery.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Service Centre. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing workshop operations, technicians and support staff while driving productivity, quality, customer satisfaction and financial performance. You will play a key role in ensuring every vehicle is completed efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the daily operations of the Service Centre
• Schedule and allocate work across technicians to maximise productivity
• Lead, coach and develop technicians and support staff
• Monitor workshop workflow, productivity and job completion
• Manage customer enquiries, updates, complaints and escalations
• Ensure customers are kept informed of repair progress, costs and completion times
• Conduct quality control checks and minimise rework
• Ensure warranty repairs and pre-delivery work meet OEM and company quality standards
• Monitor parts requirements and stock availability to minimise delays
• Manage departmental costs, revenue and overall profitability
• Drive KPIs including labour sales, parts sales, productivity, efficiency and gross profit
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety and industry requirements
• Oversee final vehicle preparation and quality prior to customer delivery

You will need to demonstrate:

• Previous experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager or similar
• Caravan, RV, automotive or related industry experience highly regarded
• Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong planning, scheduling and organisational capability
• Commercial awareness with experience managing KPIs and financial performance
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Caravan towing experience highly regarded
