Job summary

Harmony Auto is seeking a Service Manager for BYD Wodonga to lead service and after-sales operations for a luxury EV brand entering the Australian market. You will drive workshop performance, customer experience, parts coordination, staff development, and departmental profitability.

You will oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and collaborate with the parts team to ensure optimal inventory while upholding safety and compliance across the service department.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related fields.
• 5+ years in automotive repair, service operations, or after-sales roles.
• 2+ years in supervisory or management positions.
• Strong technical knowledge of EVs or automotive systems.
• Experience with BYD systems or processes is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise after-sales and service teams to ensure high performance and professional service delivery.
• Develop and implement operating plans to achieve efficiency, profitability, and departmental KPIs.

About the Role

As the Service Manager for BYD Wodonga, you will lead the service and after-sales operations for luxury EV brand entering the Australian market. You will oversee workshop performance, customer experience, parts coordination, staff development, and departmental profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Department Management

• Lead, coach, and supervise after-sales and service teams to ensure high performance and professional service delivery.
• Develop and implement operating plans to achieve efficiency, profitability, and departmental KPIs.
• Establish budgets based on historical data and future growth projections.

Customer Experience Excellence

• Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
• Resolve escalated customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure transparent application of warranty, maintenance, and goodwill policies.

Operations & Performance

• Oversee daily service operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high service standards.
• Monitor departmental performance, analyse variances, and adjust plans to meet targets.
• Work closely with the parts manager to maintain optimal inventory levels and parts availability.
• Ensure workplace safety, compliance, and operational risk control.

Team Development

• Provide ongoing feedback, performance reviews, and training guidance.
• Identify staffing, facility, and equipment requirements based on business needs.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-centric team culture.

Other Responsibilities

• Support dealership operations during staff absences when required.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related fields.

Experience

• 5+ years in automotive repair, service operations, or after-sales roles.
• 2+ years in supervisory or management positions.
• Strong technical knowledge of EVs or automotive systems preferred.
• Experience with BYD systems or processes is an advantage.
