Job summary

City of Redmond seeks a Senior Planner to lead watershed and stormwater planning within Redmond’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan framework. You will guide cross‑disciplinary teams, coordinate with partners, and ensure projects align with climate resilience goals and environmental sustainability actions.

The role emphasizes communication of complex technical issues, pursuit of grant opportunities, and delivering actionable recommendations to city leadership and the public.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of stormwater and watershed systems required.
• Understanding of NPDES Phase II or equivalent regulations preferred.
• Experience developing or implementing watershed or basin plans.
• Experience managing projects through full lifecycle.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and manage planning studies.
• Engage community and interest groups through public meetings and outreach.
• Prepare and interpret data; develop clear, actionable recommendations.
• Lead watershed and stormwater basin planning projects and prioritization.
• Oversee program delivery for SMAP and SMED and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide consultation, grant sourcing, scope development, and budget coordination.
