Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced water infrastructure engineer to join our Townsville team. You will lead significant water projects, guiding design through construction while managing scope, schedule, and budget across local and regional clients.

The role offers hybrid work options in regional Queensland, with visa sponsorship and relocation support for the right candidate. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary water infrastructure projects and meeting delivery requirements.
• Interest in succession planning and future leadership within a global organisation.
• Ability to develop new client relationships and maintain existing networks.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and designers.

Job Description

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our industry leading Water infrastructure team based in our Townsville office.

Work across a range of significant water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, storage reservoirs and water & wastewater treatment infrastructure for various clients both locally in North Queensland and beyond.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) / Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng).
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex multidisciplinary projects and meeting delivery requirements in the water infrastructure industry.
• A future leader with an interest in succession and long‑term growth within a global organisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external, client‑facing level, developing new client relationships and maintaining existing networks within the business.
• Ability to and an interest in guiding and mentoring junior engineers and designers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.
