  • Lead preparation of PBAC, MSAC and PHARMAC submissions with clear, evidence-based content.
  • Serve as market access lead on cross-functional teams delivering payer insights to shape strategy.
  • Lead reimbursement feasibility assessments for pipeline assets to support prioritisation.
  • Monitor reimbursement landscape in AU/NZ and engage stakeholders to support access objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to inform evidence planning and pricing strategy.
  • Provide input into reimbursement and pricing assumptions for financial planning cycles.
  • Coach/mentor less experienced Value and Access colleagues.
  • Represent AbbVie with DoH, Medicines Australia and external experts as required.
  • Adhere to AbbVie's WHS, codes of conduct and compliance processes.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Value & Access Manager to play a critical role in shaping access strategy across Australia and New Zealand for a diverse and growing portfolio of medicines. This is an opportunity to sit at the intersection of science, policy, health economics, and commercial strategy while working alongside some of the most respected leaders in the industry.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead preparation of PBAC, MSAC and PHARMAC submissions, including writing clear, evidence-based content, with accountability for quality, alignment, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as the market access lead on cross-functional teams, delivering reliable access and payer insights to shape strategy and inform business planning.
  • Lead reimbursement feasibility assessments for pipeline assets to support portfolio prioritisation and resource allocation.
  • Monitor the evolving reimbursement and policy landscape in Australia and New Zealand and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities that support access objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure local access insights inform evidence planning and support alignment on access and pricing strategy.
  • Provide input into reimbursement and pricing assumptions for financial planning cycles
  • Coach/mentor less experienced Value and Access colleagues
  • Represent AbbVie externally with Department of Health, Medicines Australia and external experts relevant to portfolio as required.
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degreein Biomedical, Science, Public Health, Health Economics, or Business Administration
  • Extensive experience in market access, health economics, or related roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Value and Access strategy development, and advanced capability in writing high-quality HTA submissions with clear, evidence-based value propositions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, including management of external vendors and project timeline
  • Strong strategic & analytical thinking: demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas
  • Strong understanding of the ANZ healthcare system and reimbursement processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, including management of external vendors and project timeline
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and matrix environments, and to lead collaborative initiatives
  • Ability to adapt to evolving customer needs/demands within a changing environment
