Job summary

AECOM in Adelaide seeks an experienced planner to lead complex planning studies and development applications, delivering actionable analyses that shape communities and transport networks.

You will review amendments, rezoning and site plans, conduct field inspections, and provide professional planning assistance to member communities, councils and stakeholders, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning or related field.
  • Experience with land use planning, zoning and development reviews.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex planning studies and development applications.
  • Review and process plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats.
  • Prepare reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
  • Provide planning assistance on land use and transportation projects.
  • Develop regional plans, studies and analyses.
  • Contribute to natural/water resources planning and hazard mitigation.
  • Perform field inspections to verify compliance with approved plans.
  • Present findings to staff and elected officials.

Job Description
  • Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews.
  • Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats.
  • Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
  • Provides professional planning assistance to member communities on varied land use and transportation projects.
  • Develops plans, studies and analyses on regional basis.
  • Works in regional program areas relating to natural/water resources planning, community development, hazard mitigation, coastal zone management, and others.
  • Performs field inspections to gather data relevant to the development review process and/or to verify that development projects comply with approved plans.
  • Conducts meetings and presents reports and other findings to staff with advisory boards and elected officials.
