A leading mining service provider is seeking a dedicated Senior Field Service Technician in New South Wales. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and commissioning of electrical equipment. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with HV electrical systems and a commitment to safety. Qualifications

  • Experience in diagnosing and fault finding High Voltage electrical systems.
  • Comfortable with travel and being away from home.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of electrical equipment underground.
  • Provide face-to-face support to clients.
  • Conduct onsite electrical auditing and testing.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for dedicated and highly skilled Senior Field Service Technician to support our Underground mining customers in New South Wales.

As a Senior Field Service Technician you will play a pivotal role in the testing, repair, installation and commissioning of Ampcontrol manufactured equipment and systems on sites. This includes Longwall systems, Development Power systems, Conveyor signal line and communication systems, Gas monitoring equipment and HV electrical equipment.

You will also be a key stakeholder in training and supporting technicians within the team.

Your role will include:

  • Installation, and commissioning of Electrical equipment Underground
  • Onsite electrical auditing, testing, breakdown assistance, commissioning and installation the above-mentioned systems
  • Provide face to face support to our clients
  • Work individually and in small teams across a wide range of mine sites
  • Provide timely and quality service-related reports following any site work completed.
ABOUT YOU:

A willingness to gets hands on in an electrical manufacturing and service environment will be complemented by the following:

  • Safety as a core value
  • Experience with HV electrical equipment and systems specific to mining and utilities (including diagnosis and fault finding)
  • Experience with Underground Coal Longwall, Development and Outbye Systems (Ampcontrol controlled systems will be a requirement)
  • Competency in injection testing protection relays (desirable)
  • Experience / understanding of Ampcontrol products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of explosion protection techniques
  • Understanding of AS3800, AS5368, AS2290 (essential)
  • Good report writing skills (essential)
  • Current Order 43 Medical (desirable)
  • Task focused approach
