Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to lead the technical delivery of industrial digital engagements. You will define solution designs and implementation strategies, provide technical leadership to project teams, and ensure safe, scalable, high‑quality solutions.

Job Description

As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will lead the technical delivery of industrial digital engagements. You will define solution designs and implementation strategies, provide technical leadership to project teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients deploying industrial data platforms. You will be accountable for delivering solutions safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.

As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in implementing scalable, data-driven solutions using Rockwell and partner technology, including Cognite Data Fusion (CDF)/FactoryTalk Data Mosaix, and FactoryTalk Optix. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex industrial challenges into digital solutions. Your expertise will help drive digital transformation across industries.

Your Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Architecture
• Apply systems engineering expertise to deliver information solutions in manufacturing environments.
• Implement data models, integration patterns, and system architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Define end-to-end architectures leveraging industrial data management solutions, cloud platforms, and edge data ingestion technologies.
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance of deployed solutions.
• Implementation & Delivery Lead client workshops throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, and training.
• Translate user and functional requirements into technical specifications, and oversee development, testing, installation, and support.
• Implement data ingestion, contextualization, and visualization workflows.
• Implement ingestion pipelines, APIs, and integration services.
• Adhere to development standards, CI/CD practices, and code quality expectations
• Technical Leadership Stay current with leading industrial data platforms and emerging industry trends.
• Mentor more junior delivery staff.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Legal authorization to work in Australia. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Typically 8-10 years of related experience working for a Systems Integrator, Consulting organization, or industrial technology provider.
• Strong understanding and practical experience implementing industrial data systems (e.g., historians, SCADA, PLCs, MES, ERP).
• Experience leading technical teams and managing client-facing delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of automation industry standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work at customer sites.
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement mindset.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have :

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, and/or software development.
• Hands-on experience with Cognite Data Fusion, FactoryTalk Data Mosaix, PTC ThingWorx, or similar industrial data platforms.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, APIs, and data modeling.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with time-series data and contextualization techniques.
• Knowledge of industrial domains such as mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, or energy.
• Certifications in cloud and industrial data platforms
• Prior consulting or system integrator experience.
• Familiarity with machine learning model development and MLOps practices.
• Understanding of data governance, access management, and cybersecurity in industrial contexts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both executive and technical stakeholders.
• Experience in asset performance management, production monitoring, or advanced process control
