TOM People is seeking a seasoned tax professional to own compliance, reporting and advisory activities across a complex financial services environment in Sydney. You will partner with senior stakeholders to ensure timely tax obligations and governance across local and international initiatives.

The role emphasizes strong Australian tax knowledge, experience in regulated environments, and advanced Excel analytics to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a dedicated tax role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian corporate tax, GST and related tax legislation.
• Background within financial services, banking or a complex regulated environment is highly regarded.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• End to end preparation and lodgement of corporate income tax, GST and other taxation obligations.
• Management of withholding tax, PAYG and tax payment processes.
• Preparation of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and supporting work papers.
• Supporting FBT, FATCA/CRS and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Tax data analysis, reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies across multiple systems.
• Responding to queries from auditors, external advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Researching legislative changes and assessing impacts on the business.
• Providing tax advice on new products, transactions and business initiatives.
• Supporting transfer pricing, tax governance and broader tax documentation projects.
