L3Harris Technologies in Australia is seeking a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering to join the team supporting the Mature Support Contract for sustainment of Tactical Radio products.

The role involves engineering changes, technical investigations, obsolescence management and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering recognized by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience in Defence industry is a preference and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Suppliers and other parties providing Engineering Services for radio products.
• Lead engineering changes including end-to-end requirements, design, verification and reporting.
• Conduct Technical Information Reviews affecting PBS items and provide recommendations.
• Assist in technical investigations for radio product range issues.
• Monitor lifecycle changes, issues, and product roadmaps for PBS items.
• Provide input to Contract Status Reporting with planned activities and issues.
• Manage engineering plans and procedures including CDRL items.
• Support MSC project engineering and technical operations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering recognized by Engineers Australia

About The Role

If you’re ready to take the next step in your career in systems engineering, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering, to join our team supporting the Mature Support Contract (MSC) supporting the sustainment of L3Harris Tactical Radio Products.

Your work will encompass engineering changes including modification or enhancements, technical investigations, obsolescence management and disposal of L3Harris and third-party products. This role will assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks, contractual obligations, and customer requirements.

What The Role Will Involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Coordinate with the parties (including Suppliers) who are providing Engineering Services for radio products; ensuring understanding of their responsibilities, the processes to be used, and the time-frames involved


• Lead engineering changes for modifications or enhancements, including end-to-end requirements management, detailed design, verification and associated reporting


• Conduct Technical Information Review (TIR) from any source which may affect fit, form or function of the PBS items and provide advice to the MSC program office, including any related engineering investigation or change


• Assist in technical investigations for engineering-related requests into radio products range, investigating product issues and providing written recommendations and outcomes


• Monitor and maintain the Products Being Supported (PBS) items for lifecycle changes, product issues, supportability issues, change proposals and pro0duct roadmaps


• Status and deliver timely outcomes on Request for Information (RFI) raised by the MSC program office


• Provision of input to Contract Status Reporting, including performance, planned activities, issues and opportunities as appropriate to the MSC


• Management and update of engineering related plans and procedures, including Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items


• Support to the organization, control and coordination of engineering and technical operations of the MSC project

What You’ll Bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia


• Examples include: Avionics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems, Software


• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or equivalent experience


• Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, large international business will also be considered


• Experience in supporting small and large scale engineering projects


• A background in sustainment will be highly regarded


• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA at the NV1 level)

Highly Desirable

• Knowledge of HF, VHF, UHF and Narrowband SATCOM Systems


• Experience with mobile networking within a tactical environment and tactical data messaging


• Knowledge of secure voice and data systems including an understanding of cryptographic equipment


• Experience with verification, especially test procedure development
