Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited in Brisbane, Australia, seeks a Senior System RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle both administrative and strategic tasks.

You will lead RAM activities, perform FMEA, reliability modeling, life cycle cost analysis, and ensure RAM requirements are met across internal teams and suppliers, with a focus on IEC 61709:2017 and MIL-HDBK 217F.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent technical background.
• Minimum 5 years of RAMS experience.
• Experience in Reliability Engineering in rail, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Isograph software or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• RAM activities planning and support.
• RAM activities budget forecast and management.
• Provide feedback to project/product design team since the early phases of the project/product lifecycle.
• Perform Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis.
• Reliability modelling techniques (RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, Petri-Nets).
• Life Cycle Cost analysis.
• Products reliability predictions according to IEC 61709:2017, MIL-HDBK 217F, FIDES, etc.
• Ensure RAM parameters performance demonstration in operation.
• Application of FRACAS process.
• Ensure suppliers are provided with RAM requirements.
• Manage internal and external interfaces with other departments, suppliers, partners, and clients.
• Develop, improve and implement RAM standard processes.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior System RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key responsibilities

• RAM activities planning and support
• RAM activities budget forecast and management
• Provide feedback to project/product design team since the early phases of the project/product lifecycle
• Perform Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis
