Job summary

eHealth NSW is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Health Manager Level 4) to support, maintain, and modernise critical health platforms. You will manage the Imprivata Rapid Access service hosted in Microsoft Azure, ensuring identity, authentication and secure access across NSW Health.

The role offers hybrid work options with Chatswood location, a competitive salary from AU$153,559 to AU$182,954 plus 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading, and a fixed-term Exempt contract up

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Senior Systems Administration.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Hands-on experience with identity and access management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the health, availability, security, and performance of the Imprivata platform and supporting Azure infrastructure. Administer and support authentication, SSO, MFA, and identity management services.

As a Senior Systems Engineer in our End User Compute Program), you will support, maintain, and enhance the Imprivata Rapid Access platform hosted in Microsoft Azure. The role also contributes to the ongoing modernisation of critical health infrastructure supporting clinicians and healthcare staff across NSW Health.

In this role, you will:

• Support, maintain, and enhance the Imprivata Rapid Access platform hosted in Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor and maintain the health, availability, security, and performance of the Imprivata platform and supporting Azure infrastructure. Administer and support authentication, SSO, MFA, and identity management services across enterprise and clinical environments. Troubleshoot and resolve identity, infrastructure, networking, and connectivity issues to minimise service disruptions.
• Manage Azure resources, monitoring, security controls, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities. Collaborate closely with cloud, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, application, and end-user computing teams to deliver integrated solutions and resolve complex technical issues. Participate in system upgrades, change management, platform enhancements, and the development of operational documentation and support processes.

About You

Brings 5+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Senior Systems Administration supporting large-scale enterprise environments. Has strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID, with a solid understanding of cloud and infrastructure services. Possess hands‑on experience with identity and access management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), and enterprise authentication solutions.

Is a strong problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, authentication, networking, and application issues, while collaborating effectively across technical teams. Is adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning, with the ability to quickly develop expertise in Imprivata and contribute to the delivery of secure, modern healthcare technology services.
