Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Sustainability Consultant to join the National Sustainability team based in Melbourne. You will lead sustainability input across major infrastructure projects—including water, rail, and road—and support global Net Zero initiatives and defence programs.

You will embed sustainability from design through construction, delivering frameworks, management plans, and innovative solutions, with a focus on delivering lasting environmental and community benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, or similar.
• Experience in sustainability consulting within infrastructure (water sector highly regarded).
• Familiarity with Green Star or ISC rating tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and business development experience.
• Ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability strategies and provide technical advice on large-scale projects.
• Drive adoption of sustainability initiatives during design and construction.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver environmental outcomes.
• Manage project planning, cost estimates, tender submissions, and client reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Carbon baselining, lifecycle cost analysis, carbon assessment, material selection.
• Contribute to business development through proposals and stakeholder engagement.
