About the Opportunity

We’re seeking experienced Senior Structural Engineers and Leaders to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and guidance across complex structural engineering projects, ensuring designs meet rigorous engineering principles, safety standards, and customer requirements. You’ll foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence within your team while driving successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on structural engineering activities for complex projects.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering principles, safety and regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
  • Manage the development and review of structural documentation, including calculations, specifications, and reports.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders in a project environment.
  • Deliver outcomes within budget and schedule to support successful project delivery.
About you
  • Degree‑qualified engineer in Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or similar (eligible for membership with Engineers Australia at MIE Aust level).
  • Experience in structural engineering within heavy engineering, shipbuilding, or defence environments.
  • For leadership roles: proven ability to manage engineering teams and deliver complex projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for continuous learning and professional development.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
