Job summary

Coronado Global Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join the Engineering team at Curragh Mine. You will be the site’s SME for structural engineering, leading integrity programs and projects from concept to execution in a large-scale coal operation.

You will provide technical guidance, review designs, and mentor graduates while driving safety and continuous improvement across the civil/structural footprint of the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with RPEQ registration.
• Extensive structural engineering experience in mining, heavy industry or mineral processing.
• Experience managing structural integrity programs and fixed plant infrastructure.
• Experience in civil projects, defects repairs and construction methods.
• Demonstrated experience delivering engineering projects from concept through to execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural integrity management program for the CHPP and associated mine infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership for civil and structural engineering design, modifications and maintenance activities.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations and consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, legislative requirements and site specifications.
• Develop scopes of work, engineering packages, cost estimates and repair methodologies for structural works.
• Support capital and operational projects through planning, execution and commissioning.
• Work closely with planners, schedulers and maintenance teams to prioritise structural inspections, repairs and improvement initiatives.
• Champion Safety in Design principles and provide technical risk assessments for structural works.
• Provide technical support during shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
• Mentor and develop graduate and junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and promoting engineering best practice.
