We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Housing team in Adelaide. The position is open and not limited to engineering backgrounds, as 3+ years’ experience in the field without an engineering background would be acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of timely, high‑quality solutions in the residential housing market, including projects such as single‑storey, double‑storey, transportable, and pole‑frame designs.
- Produce and review designs, including site plans, drainage plans, and other associated documentation.
- Review and provide guidance on peers’ engineering reports and documentation to ensure quality control and support skill development.
- Manage client interactions, including setting meeting agendas, capturing minutes, and monitoring orders and feedback on a regular basis.
- Attend site meetings with stakeholders, including builders, homeowners, and contractors, as required.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with all stakeholders, including engineers, Intrax staff, builders, footing contractors, and local councils.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in volume housing.
- Experience in the design of residential/low‑rise structural buildings.
- Experience in design using timber structures, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and designs of waffle, raft, suspended slab, retaining walls, etc.
- Proficient in the use of engineering design software tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), RAPT (advantageous).
- Ability to build rapport with clients and project stakeholders.
- Advanced ability to interpret the requirements of Australian standards and building codes, design in accordance with AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC, etc.
