Baigents Pty Ltd, a long established Melbourne consulting engineering practice, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead technical and project delivery across diverse building projects. You will own projects from design through construction, collaborating with directors, clients, architects and builders.
Ideal candidates have strong Australian structural design experience and are ready for broader responsibility, with opportunities for mentorship and leadership within a collaborative team.
Baigents is a well established Melbourne consulting engineering practice with nearly 40 years’ experience delivering structural and civil engineering solutions across the commercial, retail, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in the technical and project delivery of a diverse range of structural projects.
This is a hands on senior engineering role with responsibility across design, project delivery, client liaison and construction phase support.
You will work directly with directors, clients, architects, builders and other consultants, taking ownership of projects from design through to construction.
The role is suited to an engineer already operating at senior level who is looking for broader project responsibility, technical variety and a supportive working environment. We will also consider an outstanding intermediate engineer who is clearly ready to step into a senior role.
We offer a friendly, collaborative and down to earth working environment where engineers are trusted to take ownership of their work while having direct access to experienced directors and senior technical staff.
We place a strong emphasis on maintaining sustainable workloads and a healthy work life balance, while still providing technically interesting and challenging work.
Our engineers are exposed to a broad variety of projects and engineering problems, including new structural design, existing building assessments, alterations and strengthening, investigations, remediation, temporary works and construction phase advice and services. This provides greater technical variety than a narrowly specialised role and supports continued professional development.
