We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Production Metallurgist to join the team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

This role reporting into the Superintendent : Production Metallurgy.

This is an on‑site position based at the well‑known Sunrise Dam on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster, to which we operate direct flights with a short commute to our sites from Perth and / or Kalgoorlie.

Role purpose

The Senior Production Metallurgist is responsible for maximising gold production at Sunrise Dam GoldMine, where the incumbent will lead a team of Production Metallurgists, Metallurgical Technicians and Gold Room Technicians with a focus on the day‑to‑day optimisation of the processing plant.

Accountabilities
  • Demonstrate a strong focus in health, safety and environmental policies to ensure that site, corporate, and legislative requirements for the operation are met
  • Lead and coordinate Production Metallurgy, Laboratory and Gold Room duties
  • Provide technical guidance, training and mentoring to Metallurgy and Operational team members
  • Develop budget and forecast plans to achieve key business objectives
  • Review production performance compared to business planning targets and provide actionable options to realign where variance exists
  • Oversee and approve metallurgical accounting system outputs, inclusive of production reports
  • Identify short to medium term plant improvement projects and develop schedules to evaluate and quantify benefits
About You

To be considered, we would like to see you have :

  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
  • Previous Gold Processing experience, inclusive of gold / sulphide flotation and ultrafine grinding
  • Proven experience at a Senior Metallurgist level, or extensive experience as a Plant Metallurgist
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in which you have trained and mentored a small team
  • A high level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite and metallurgical accounting systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Current "C" Class Driver's Licence
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor, BSBWHS411 and BSBWHW414 qualifications
