Job summary

Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Sydney seeks a Solution Architect to replace CHESS, focusing on core trading, market operations and regulatory obligations. You’ll design high-performance, low-latency platforms and lead architecture across multi-project workstreams.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and delivery teams while aligning with enterprise architecture principles and governance. An agile mindset with strong stakeholder engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in mission-critical, high-transaction environments.
• Experience in markets trading within financial services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with hybrid legacy/cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS) architectures.
• Full SDLC experience with traditional and agile methods.
• Ability to define non-functional requirements.
• B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve core systems supporting trading, market operations, and regulatory obligations.
• Lead solution architecture across large-scale projects and governance forums.
• Provide technical leadership and produce architecture designs and specs.
• Collaborate with delivery, infrastructure, QA, and testing teams.
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise IT Strategy and architecture principles.
• Work with Engineering to ensure compliance with architecture strategy.
• Actively participate in the Enterprise Architecture CoP.
