Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Software Tester to join the Mission Software Solutions team in Scoresby, Victoria or Canberra. You will work closely with software engineers, business analysts and customers to ensure software solutions meet the highest quality standards throughout the full testing lifecycle.

  • Support verification and validation activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices, tools and processes.

About the Team

The Mission Software Solutions business delivers customised and off-the-shelf software solutions to Defence, Intelligence and other Government customers. We develop and support technologies that address complex operational challenges, delivering trusted capabilities where quality, reliability and mission success are critical. Working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team, you'll collaborate with software engineers, architects, business analysts and customers to ensure high-quality software solutions are delivered to support mission-critical outcomes.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Tester to join our growing team in either Scoresby, Victoria or Canberra. Working closely with software engineers, business analysts, architects, customers and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring software solutions are delivered to the highest quality standards. You'll contribute across the full testing lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test planning through to execution, defect management, validation and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex and meaningful projects while partnering directly with customers and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet both business and user requirements.

About You

You are a customer-focused testing professional who enjoys understanding how systems work, identifying issues and helping teams deliver high-quality software solutions. You bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you can communicate testing outcomes clearly while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment. Most importantly, you enjoy working as part of an integrated team and take pride in delivering quality outcomes that make a difference. This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold an active NV-2 or TSPV Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. In certain circumstances this can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.

Essential for this role:

Essential for this Role
  • Demonstrated experience in software testing across one or more phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and test procedures.
  • Experience with defect identification, tracking, management and verification.

  • Experience working within Defence, Government or other highly regulated environments.Relevant industry certifications such as ISTQB or other software testing qualifications.
