Job summary

Unloan, a start-up inside Commonwealth Bank, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Acquisition Squad. You will design and build customer-facing experiences that support every stage of the home lending journey, owning solutions end to end from development to production.

You will work at the AI-enabled edge, using modern platforms and tooling to speed delivery while maintaining quality. You will join a startup-minded, autonomous micro squad, shaping customer outcomes with pragmatic software

Qualifications

• Evidence-based UI and backend development using TypeScript/React in production.
• Experience designing and consuming GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL data modelling, migrations and performance tuning.

As a Senior Software Engineer in our Acquisition Squad, you'll design, architect and build customer-facing experiences that support every stage of the home lending journey, owning solutions end to end, from implementation and testing through to deployment and production support.

• Can design, build and consume GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Bring solid PostgreSQL expertise across modelling, migrations and optimisation.
• Understand scalable system design, distributed services and integrations.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested and maintainable production code.
• Have a strong full-cycle engineering mindset. You own what you build in production.
• Work in an AI-first way and can direct, review and refine AI-generated code.
• Understand how to leverage agentic workflows and apply sound engineering judgement.
