Job summary

Easygo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to join our Melbourne-based engineering team. You will contribute to hands-on coding, scalable backend solutions, and architectural decisions that drive performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with product and engineering peers to design, implement, and optimize services using Node.js, TypeScript, and microservices patterns while mentoring junior engineers and sharing best practices throughout the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 7+ years hands-on backend software engineering experience.
• Experience with Node.js, microservices, Docker, and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD tools for deployment automation.
• Proficiency in WebSockets, Pub/Sub, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
• Strong code architecture and design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and fast-paced environment adaptability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies to grow as a full-stack engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, with a primary focus on backend development.
• Experience with technologies such as Node.js, Microservices, Docker, Cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub Actions) for automating the deployment process.
• Proficiency in Subscriptions technology (WebSockets, Pub/Sub), TypeScript, GraphQL, database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
• Strong understanding of code architecture and design principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset to address complex technical challenges and devise innovative solutions.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies to grow as a full‑stack engineer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Svelte + SvelteKit or other server‑side rendering frameworks (e.g., React + NextJS, Vue + Nuxt, Quasar, etc).
• Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals, Storybook, and related technologies.
