Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own a feature area within our Product Engineering team. You will design, implement and productionize key capabilities, mentoring engineers and shaping what we ship for customers who rely on us to understand cybersecurity risk.

You'll work with React/TypeScript on the frontend and Go services with Postgres on Kubernetes in Google Cloud Platform, building scalable, AI-assisted tooling that automates risk analysis and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience at product-driven teams.
• Strong TypeScript and React skills.
• Proficient Go backend development.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with AI coding tools as part of workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own a feature area end to end, from design conversations with product through to production and follow-up.
• Lead technical design for your area and drive architectural decisions.
• Work with product and design to shape what we build: what's possible, what it costs, and what should come first.
• Mentor engineers and lift the squad's code quality.
• Improve reliability, scalability and performance of the systems you own.
• Go deep on the cybersecurity domain and bring that understanding into what we build.

You'll be the engineer your product manager turns to for \"is this possible, and how big is it\", leading technical design for your area and seeing it through to production. You'll shape how your squad builds, mentor the engineers around you, and have real influence over what we ship for customers who depend on us to understand their cyber risk.You'll join one of our 11 (and growing) Product Engineering squads, most of which have a product manager, designer and technical lead alongside the engineers.Our stack is React and TypeScript on the front end, Go services with Postgres as our primary database, running on Kubernetes via Google Cloud Platform.Our engineers work with agentic coding tools, mostly Claude Code and Cursor, and a growing part of the product is LLM-backed.
