Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to deliver innovative software solutions for large-scale information integration systems. You will participate in the full SDLC, from planning and design to testing and deployment, using Java, JavaScript and API services in a modern DevOps environment.

The role requires expertise in geospatial systems, Agile/Kanban, and integration with open-source technologies, REST/SOAP/messaging, plus JIRA and Confluence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a senior role within an engineering or project environment.
• Experience developing or supporting geospatial systems.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Kanban methodologies and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD).
• Experience integrating and customizing systems using open-source technologies and REST/SOAP/messaging; familiarity with JIRA/Confluence.

Your New Role And Responsibilities

As atalented member of our software engineering team, you will provide innovative and high-value solutions to a variety of complex technical challenges for our customer to build a large-scale information integration system.

Involved in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)that includes planning, design, development and testing, you will be frequently applying a broad range of tools and latest technologies, and exploring creative ways and new approaches to implementing software solutions.

You will be an established software engineer with extensive experience in Java, JavaScript, application frameworks, API services development, secure development practices, and enterprise integration patterns and products.

What You’ll Bring To Make An Impact

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience and training)
• Proactive, business-aware professional able to identify issues, build relationships, and drive objectives
• Experience in a senior role within an engineering or project environment
• Experience developing or supporting geospatial systems
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Kanban methodologies and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience integrating and customizing systems using open-source technologies, REST/SOAP/messaging, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
