Job summary

Insignia Financial is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (full-stack) to join the Advice Technology portfolio in Australia. You will analyze, design, develop, test, and deliver software solutions within an Agile delivery environment, focusing on usability, quality and reliability to meet client and business needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience across complex tech environments.
• Strong programming and object-oriented design skills.
• Full-stack experience with Java, Angular; SPA know-how.
• Experience with Agile, unit testing and automated tests.
• Knowledge of continuous delivery, infrastructure automation, and DevOps.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and messaging tech.
• Commitment to usable, high-quality software and risk management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deliver significant enhancements to Advice Technology applications.
• Analyse requirements and ensure solutions meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute ideas during discovery and solution design sessions.
• Support maintenance, BAU improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and team planning.

The opportunity to join our team

Join Insignia Financial as a Senior Software Engineer full-stack Java, within our Advice Technology portfolio, where you will help support, maintain and deliver technology solutions used by our clients. You will analyse, design, develop, test, implement and support software solutions within an Agile delivery environment. This is a hands-on role encompassing technical enhancements, business-as-usual improvements, risk mitigation and the continuous improvement of our applications. With a strong focus on usability, quality and reliability, you will help create intuitive software experiences that meet client and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and deliver significant technical enhancements to Advice Technology applications
• Undertake technical analysis to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements and specifications
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex application and software issues
• Contribute technical expertise and ideas during discovery and solution-design sessions
• Support application maintenance, business-as-usual enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and team planning activities
• Proactively monitor system alerts and respond to potential application or operational issues
• Follow and contribute to engineering standards, team principles, procedures and development practices

What you will bring:

• Extensive software development experience, ideally with more than 10 years working across complex technology environments
• Strong knowledge of programming, object-oriented concepts and modern software engineering principles
• Full-stack development experience, including databases, modern web technologies and single-page applications, Java, Angular, View
• Experience working with Agile development practices, unit testing and automated testing tools
• Knowledge of continuous delivery, infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Unix or Linux environments, messaging technologies and relevant development frameworks
• A commitment to user-friendly design, software quality, risk management and continuous improvement
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
