Key Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to provide consistent, evidence based and high-quality social work interventions, including a detailed knowledge of legislative requirements and evidence based best practices in the areas of child safety, domestic and family violence, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Aged Care, mental health, and other associated indicators of vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and detailed understanding of ambulance and health service delivery and the issues impacting on the health care system statewide; including an understanding of the complex systems and processes which see vulnerable people require emergency services.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, consult and collaborate to build and maintain productive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including people from diverse cultural, social and professional backgrounds, and to positively advocate and achieve desired outcomes for the QAS.
- Proven ability to rapidly solve problems, manage complex health care issues and deliver pre-hospital care in a non-traditional and virtual setting.
Mandatory Requirements, Special Conditions and Other Requirements
- Mandatory possession of a tertiary qualification in an eligible Health Practitioner discipline or profession and registration or membership with the appropriate association or authority within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided prior to the commencement of employment.
- It is a mandatory requirement for all social work positions that the candidate is eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a university level Social Work Degree accredited by the AASW, and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership to the association.
- The incumbent will be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence will be required.
- It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis (Whooping Cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza. Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework.
- Position requires participation in shift work (including weekends) and may undertake overtime.
