A regional health service in New South Wales seeks a Senior Crisis Response Social Worker to provide clinical responses for critical illness and trauma. The role requires advanced clinical skills, leadership in interdisciplinary settings, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. The RNSH Senior Crisis Response Social Worker is required to provide a clinical response to critical illness, -trauma / resus, -end of life care, -prevention and response to violence, abuse and neglect (PARVAN) concerns for children, young people, women, families (child protection, domestic and family violence), -victims of crime, -concerns relating to elder abuse / carer concern -pediatrics presentations (sudden and unexpected death of infants, youth health concerns, emotional / psychosocial wellbeing concerns), -pregnancy loss, -housing & homelessness, discharge planning, and other responses as required.
This will include the provision of senior practitioner level bio-psychosocial assessment, counselling, information and advocacy to consumers, carers and families in a consumer centred framework, and liaison with other relevant professionals (Health and external agencies). The Social Work Senior Clinician will utilise independent professional judgment to ensure patient care is delivered within professional, organisational, legal and ethical boundaries and reflects evidence based, best practice knowledge and practice.
