Job summary

Cleared is seeking a Coalition Services Engineer to provide systems engineering, integration and sustainment for the Land Network Integration Centre. You will collaborate with Defence stakeholders to ensure interoperability across Land, Joint and Coalition environments and contribute to the evolution of mission systems and networks.

This on-site Advanced Practitioner role requires hands-on engineering expertise, independent delivery and authoritative technical guidance, with NV2 security

Cleared is supporting the Commonwealth in the search for a Coalition Services Engineer to join the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC). The LNIC plays a critical role in advising and directing Army's digital network integration efforts, ensuring interoperability across Land, Joint and Coalition environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex ICT, mission systems and coalition network capabilities that directly support Defence integration, experimentation, testing and validation activities.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Coalition Services Engineer to provide systems engineering, integration, technical assurance and sustainment support within the Land Network Integration Centre. Working within a small specialist team, you will contribute to the integration, testing, validation and ongoing evolution of complex mission systems, applications, networks and supporting infrastructure. You will work closely with Defence stakeholders to ensure system alignment, interoperability and integration outcomes are achieved across Land, Joint and Coalition environments.

This is an Advanced Practitioner level position requiring a hands-on engineering professional capable of operating independently while delivering authoritative technical advice and engineering support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain system design, architecture and integration documentation across coalition and Defence environments.
• Support the engineering, integration, validation and sustainment of complex ICT and mission systems.
• Conduct configuration management activities across hardware, software and system artefacts.
• Deliver Level 3 technical support and ongoing system maintenance.
• Participate in integration testing, risk reduction activities, acceptance testing and evaluation events.
• Assess and resolve system interoperability and integration issues.
• Support innovation activities and integration of new Army, partner and coalition capabilities.
• Provide technical advice and engineering guidance to Defence stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical reports, engineering assessments and recommendations.
• Support the development of networking instructions, NETOPS artefacts and technical documentation for joint and coalition activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to ADF personnel during testing and integration activities.
• Support domestic and international exercises, trials, working groups and coalition engagements as required.

Education/Certifications Required

• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• NV2 Security Clearance or ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Highly desirable

• Postgraduate qualifications or formal training in Systems Engineering.
• Relevant industry certifications in networking, systems engineering, cyber security or infrastructure technologies.

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Demonstrated experience engineering and integrating complex ICT systems.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, integration, verification and validation.
• Experience managing requirements, interfaces, configuration control and integration testing activities.
• Experience integrating and supporting enterprise applications and information systems.
• Understanding of Information Security Manual (ISM) controls and Essential Eight mitigation strategies.
• Strong LAN/WAN engineering knowledge including:
  • IP Addressing
  • Routing
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Network Segmentation
• Ability to provide authoritative technical advice and engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within complex enterprise or mission-critical environments.

Highly Desirable

• Deployable LAN or Defence network experience.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, Federation and Identity Management.
• PowerShell, Bash, Ansible or other automation and scripting technologies.
• Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 SOE administration.
• System-of-systems engineering experience.
• Development and interpretation of architecture artefacts and interface control documentation.
• Test and Evaluation (T&E), Risk Reduction Activities and Acceptance Testing experience.
• Software integration experience involving messaging, mail relay or proxy services.
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) and End User Device (EUD) management.
• Knowledge of Joint, Coalition or Five Eyes (FVEY) environments.
