Job summary

AGL Energy's Construction team is looking for a Senior SCADA & Controls Engineer to lead critical engineering scopes for new grid-scale energy projects. You will drive SCADA and control system design, commissioning and integration across renewables, with flexibility to be based in any national office, preferring Sydney, Newcastle or Melbourne.

You bring a degree in Electrical Engineering, membership eligibility with Engineers Australia (CPEng preferred), and proven experience in SCADA.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Electrical Engineering and be eligible for Engineers Australia membership; CPEng preferred.
• Proven experience in SCADA and controls engineering across grid-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international standards, process safety, and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCADA and control engineering activities across all project phases.
• Develop technical specifications and design criteria for major equipment and systems.
• Govern deliverables from contractors to ensure standards and project requirements are met.
• Coordinate and manage technical workstreams with safe, compliant execution.

**About the role** AGL’s Construction team is looking for a **Senior SCADA & Controls Engineer** to lead critical engineering scopes for new greenfield grid-scale energy projects and help deliver our vision for a sustainable future. This is a senior technical role with leadership responsibilities, driving excellence in SCADA and control systems design, commissioning, and integration across renewable energy projects.
