Job summary

Multicultural Consulting Services Pty is recruiting a Safety Specialist to support a regional rail construction project focused on structures. The role involves inspections, hazard controls, incident investigations, and safety education on site and in planning phases.

You will work a Monday-Friday Sydney phase before a 2:1 site roster in Stockinbingal, with DIDO or relocation within an hour of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Occupational Health & Safety qualification and/or engineering background.
• Experience delivering safety on major rail or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of hazard identification and risk controls.
• Proficient in safety-management and incident-reporting processes.
• Ability to lead training and safety leadership initiatives.

About The Employer

Our client is an established engineering, construction and operations business delivering transport, building, water and other infrastructure works across Australia. Its multidisciplinary teams support the development and operation of assets used by local communities.

The Opportunity

Support safety delivery on a regional rail construction project, with a focus on structures. The advertisement describes an initial Monday-Friday Sydney phase followed by a 2:1 site roster in Stockinbingal; the current mobilisation stage should be confirmed during recruitment.

Your Work

• Conduct inspections and audits, identify hazards and verify effective controls.

Requirements & Skills, Education And Requirements

• Relevant qualification in occupational health and safety, engineering or a related field; additional construction-safety certification is valued.
• Experience in comparable safety roles, including structures and complex rail or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements, hazard identification and risk controls.
• Competence with safety-management and incident-reporting tools and effective training and leadership.
• Availability for DIDO or relocation within an hour of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal and a 2:1 roster.
