AFCA is preparing for a significant new role under the Australian Government's world‑first Scams Prevention Framework (SPF), which strengthens consumer protections against scams. As the single External Dispute Resolution (EDR) scheme for scam complaints across digital platforms, banking and telecommunications sectors, AFCA will play a central role in resolving disputes, supporting consumers and businesses, and providing insights to improve outcomes across the financial services system.
As we prepare for the SPF to commence on 31 March 2027, we're looking for talented people to join us in delivering this nationally significant initiative and making a meaningful difference for consumers.
Job Description
As the Senior Risk & Compliance Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping AFCA build and operate a robust risk, compliance and assurance framework for a nationally significant scheme designed to improve outcomes for consumers impacted by scams. Working across a complex regulatory environment, you'll help ensure risks are identified, obligations are managed, controls are effective, and assurance activities drive continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Strategic Lead, Scheme Integrity & Assurance, you'll support the implementation and ongoing operation of AFCA's Scams Prevention Framework dispute resolution arrangements through the delivery of risk, compliance and assurance activities.
This is initially a max‑term contract until July 2027.
