Job summary

BAI Communications Pty Limited is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer to lead the design, optimisation and delivery of mission-critical wireless systems across mining, resources, oil & gas, utilities and industrial sectors.

You will provide subject-matter expertise for DMR, Private LTE, microwave and RF infrastructure, guiding projects from concept to handover while maintaining engineering standards and documentation.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or significant equivalent experience in RF engineering, telecommunications or critical communications.
• Minimum five years demonstrated experience in MotoTrbo Cap Max system design and implementation.
• Significant experience designing, implementing and supporting DMR, Private LTE, microwave or mission-critical communications networks.
• Demonstrated success delivering communications solutions within mining, resources, oil & gas, utilities or industrial sectors.
• Expert understanding of RF system design, propagation, coverage analysis and communications infrastructure.
• Experience producing engineering documentation, technical reports and network design packages.

Responsibilities

• Take a senior position in the design and engineering of Digital Mobile Radio (DMR), Private LTE and associated RF communication systems.
• Provide technical leadership across customer projects, from concept development and design through to commissioning and handover.
• Assess existing network infrastructure, identify risks and develop practical solutions that maximise performance, reliability and operational availability.
• Support business development, tenders and project delivery teams with technical expertise, cost estimates and engineering solutions.
• Conduct site assessments, inspections, testing and commissioning activities across customer locations.
• Provide high-level technical support for complex operational issues and network performance challenges.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, documentation, and best-practice methodologies.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering capability.
