Social Services Regulator (SSR) in Ballarat is seeking a Senior Review & Assessment Officer for a fixed-term, full-time appointment. The role focuses on reviewing and assessing complex Working with Children and NDIS check applications, producing objective and timely assessments.

You will manage case files autonomously, prepare concise briefings for executive management, and liaise with applicants and external agencies as needed.

• Prepare and write clear and concise briefings to the department's executive management outlining recommendations on the assessment of Checks.
• Undertake liaison with applicants, cardholders and external agencies to obtain relevant information to assist the assessment of applications/reassessments.

Senior Review & Assessment Officer - Fixed Term

Fixed Term - Full Time - Ballarat Location - Up to 12 months from 04 Jan 2027

THE ROLE

The role of the Senior Review and Assessment Officer is to undertake the review and assessment of complex Working with Children and NDIS check applications and produce comprehensive and accurate assessments in a timely manner.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:

• Review and analyse information related to applications and produce objective, comprehensive and accurate assessments.
• Undertake sensitive investigations and critical analysis of information from a range of sources to evaluate applications/reassessments and make an objective recommendation on the individual's suitability to have a card.
• Undertake autonomous case management of applications and reassessments.
• Prepare and write clear and concise briefings to the department's executive management outlining recommendations on the assessment of Checks.
• Undertake liaison with applicants, cardholders and external agencies (including Corrections Victoria, Courts, Police Department of Human Services, treating professional and professional bodies) to obtain relevant information to assist the assessment of applications/reassessments.
