Job summary

MetLife Australia is seeking an experienced retail life insurance pricing professional to shape growth, profitability and fair customer outcomes across the Australian portfolio. You will lead pricing reviews, develop assumptions and pricing papers, and coach a team of pricing professionals.

Eligible candidate will have FIAA or equivalent, 5+ years in retail life pricing, strong modelling, stakeholder management and a track record of delivering clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Fellowship with the Institute of Actuaries Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
• Degree in Actuarial Science, mathematics, statistics, finance or related discipline
• Typically at least five years of relevant actuarial experience in retail life pricing
• Deep knowledge of Australian retail life insurance products and pricing practices
• Experience in inforce repricing and new business pricing including rate design and implementation

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing reviews for the Australian individual retail life portfolio
• Support end-to-end inforce repricing process and implementation
• Maintain a strong new business pricing presence and monitor market position
• Lead development and review of pricing assumptions across claims, expenses and economic factors
• Develop pricing strategies balancing growth, sustainability and customer value
• Prepare pricing papers and exec presentations with transparent methods and risks
• Develop pricing models, monitoring tools and MI with controls and automation
• Collaborate with Product, Distribution, Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Underwriting and Legal teams
• Support relationships with reinsurance partners and pricing input
• Lead, coach and develop a pricing team while ensuring timely delivery
