The Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action (DEECA) invites applications for a senior leadership role within the Molecular Plant Breeding unit of Agriculture Victoria’s Science and Technology division. Based in Horsham, you will guide strategic direction, scientific excellence, and measurable impact in grain crop genetics.
You will lead a 75+ strong team, foster partnerships across industry and research, and translate science into breeding outcomes that advance Victorian agriculture
Qualifications
- PhD in plant physiology, plant breeding or related discipline with 7+ years postdoctoral experience.
- Nationally/internationally recognized research profile with industry networks.
- Track record in attracting research investment and leading multidisciplinary programs.
- Leadership in building high-performing teams with mentoring experience.
- Excellence in stakeholder engagement and communication across sectors.
Responsibilities
- Shape strategic direction and long-term impact of the Molecular Plant Breeding unit.
