Job summary

The Brain and Mind Centre at the University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Research Officer – Research Development to turn strategic priorities into funded opportunities. You will coordinate major funding applications, map partnerships, and support governance across the clinical research lifecycle.

Reporting to the Clinical Research Manager, you will work across pillars, engage stakeholders, and drive high-impact collaborations with researchers, clinicians, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication for academic and non-academic audiences.
• Experience coordinating large-scale research funding applications and partnerships.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Guide research direction and priorities, aligning with centre goals.
• Identify and coordinate grant management and pre-award activities.
• Champion best practices in research, driving innovation and compliance.
• Build and manage internal and external partnerships to elevate research.
• Monitor risk, promote WHS, and ensure alignment with university policies.
