Job summary

Queensland Health in Cairns is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to join the Renal Services team at Cairns Hospital. You will deliver expert clinical pharmacy services across renal care, work with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to service improvement in kidney care.

The role emphasises safe, effective medication use, quality standards, and collaboration with Kidney Supportive Care, Transplant, Dialysis and CKD services within Far North Queensland.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent high level clinical pharmacy services (face to face, phone or telehealth) of a complex and critical nature with significant scope to CHHHS including all Renal services (Kidney Supportive Care, Transplant, Dialysis and Chronic Kidney Disease).
• Provide high level communication skills to align a team and influence the culture.
• Liaise with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required to ensure continuum of care.
• Develop, implement, monitor and review departmental and organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures, programs, clinical practice and clinical governance in the CHHHS Pharmacy and Renal Department.
