Job summary

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking an AO5 Senior Ranger (Fire Support) to provide regional leadership and coordination for fire management capability, logistics and readiness across Central Region.

You will plan, coordinate and deliver fire programs, support workforce development, and build partnerships with agencies and stakeholders to protect Queensland's protected areas.

Qualifications

• Fire management, emergency management or natural resource experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to coordinate multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Sound organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to workplace health and safety, including wellbeing.
• Initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently or in a team.

Join the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Central Region Fire Team

Join the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Central Region Fire Team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Region's fire management program.

As an AO5 Senior Ranger (Fire Support), you will provide regional leadership, coordination and support for fire management capability, logistics, preparedness and operational readiness across Central Region.

The role contributes to the planning, coordination and delivery of fire management programs, while supporting workforce capability development, fire operations, resource management and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also contribute to fostering partnerships and collaborative relationships between Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P), the Queensland Fire Department, First Nations peoples and other key stakeholders.

We're seeking someone who is well-organised, resourceful and capable of building and maintaining meaningful relationships. You'll be part of a collaborative and innovative team that values a positive, safe, diverse and inclusive culture.
