Based flexibly within Northern Region, with Cairns or Atherton preferred, you'll have the chance to work across diverse environments, from tropical rainforests to remote savannahs, while supporting a fire program that protects people, Country and natural values. The role offers variety, travel and the opportunity to build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, fire agencies and local communities, all while contributing to an important public service that delivers tangible outcomes for Queensland's protected areas.

Much of your work will focus on planning, coordination and program delivery, including supporting planned burning programs, bushfire preparedness, staff training, exercises, governance, reporting and lessons management. You'll help oversee fire-funded projects, coordinate specialised equipment and resources, contribute to emergency preparedness and support regional responses to bushfires and other incidents when they occur. Working closely with operational fire crews, rangers, Traditional Owners, the Queensland Fire Department and other stakeholders, you'll help ensure the region's fire program is well planned, well supported and aligned with best practice.
