Job summary

Q-CTRL is seeking a Senior Navigation Scientist to enhance navigation performance in GPS-denied environments by leveraging quantum sensors. You will work with quantum sensing experts to deliver novel navigation capabilities for maritime and aeronautical applications, focusing on robust algorithms and noise suppression.

You will develop, validate, and document navigation solutions, integrate sensor data, and contribute to the design and operation of quantum sensors for user applications.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in physics, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in navigation theory and numerical navigation modelling.
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an established and growing team focused on quantum sensing for various industry sectors.
• Develop new navigation algorithms, sensor fusion strategies, and modeling capability for different navigation scenarios.
• Plan, participate in, and analyse data from field trials on maritime and airborne platforms to test and refine navigation technology.
• Translate quantum sensor performance into capabilities that solve navigation challenges for end-users and customers.
• Develop, document, and review high-quality software using Python.
• Share insights and results with the Quantum Sensing Division and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with academic and industry partners to support new business and product development.
