Job summary

Nuix seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to lead exploratory testing across its product portfolio from desktop tools to cloud-native SaaS. You will own the exploratory testing strategy, shape QE tooling choices, and influence the QE roadmap and release readiness.

This hybrid Sydney-based role requires leading risk-based testing across multiple product lines and mentoring junior QE staff. You will champion a balanced testing pyramid, drive gap analyses, and evaluate AI-assisted testing tools to

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Quality Engineering, SDET, or Software Testing roles.
• Deep expertise in structured exploratory testing (SBTM, heuristics, risk-based test design, charter creation)
• Microservices testing experience
• Good understanding of CI/CD processes
• Experience testing both SaaS and on-premises products
• Excellent written and verbal communication — ability to articulate risk and quality trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a structured exploratory testing framework across all Nuix products using SBTM, risk-based heuristics and charter-driven exploration.
• Drive risk-prioritized cross-product coverage and data-driven prioritization of testing efforts.
• Influence QE roadmap planning, Go/No-Go release decisions, and sprint planning for FY27 goals.
• Champion a healthier testing pyramid with stronger integration and unit-level exploratory techniques.
• Identify and document gaps in test coverage and feed into the QE Gap Analysis tracker.
• Evaluate and pilot AI-assisted exploratory testing tools within the AI-DLC operating model.
• Mentor junior QE members and uplift exploratory testing skills across the QE team.
