Job summary

The Australian Trade Commission is offering a QA and Continuous Improvement Intern (Engineering) to work on-site in Australia, supporting QA and continuous improvement across production, quality and supply chain. You will gain hands-on exposure to lean transformation, data-driven process improvement and Kaizen-led project delivery in a fast-paced engineering environment.

You will map processes, plan and run Kaizen events, perform root cause analysis, and develop dashboards using Excel and BI

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an engineering/industrial/manufacturing degree.
• Strong knowledge of lean tools and process improvement methods.
• Comfortable working on-site in Australia with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by collecting and analysing process data to identify waste and performance gaps.
• Develop process maps and value stream maps to document current-state workflows and propose targeted improvements.
• Assist in planning and executing Kaizen events, 5S implementations and pilot improvements on the shop floor.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring defects or bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare clear dashboards, dashboards and presentation-ready reports using Excel/BI tools to communicate results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to support change implementation and sustainment activities.
