Job summary

Qualifications

• Dispute Resolution senior lawyers with experience or strong interest in Administrative Law and/or Information Law.
• Post-admission experience in the relevant field is desirable.
• Strong ability to articulate technical arguments and draft advisory opinions.
• Interest in solicitor advocacy and client training is welcome.
• Ability to work under pressure with excellent interpersonal skills and deliver client-focused legal solutions.

Responsibilities

• work on sensitive Administrative Law litigation and/or information law matters for the Commonwealth
• work on judicial review proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Federal Court of Australia
• work on merits review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal, including migration and information law matters
• draft advice under the Privacy Act 1988, the FOI Act 1982 and the Archives Act 1983
• deliver administrative law and/or information law training to clients
• supervise and mentor junior lawyers
• provide a high standard of client service and maintain strong client relationships
• be part of the AGS Dispute Resolution practice
