Shape the Future of the Northern Territory’s Prosecution Service

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Project Officer to lead the delivery of major projects and business improvement initiatives that support the effective operation of one of the Northern Territory's most significant legal institutions.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will manage high-profile and strategically important projects from initiation through to completion, including organisational restructures, office accommodation projects, recruitment initiatives and business improvement programs. You will provide leadership to a small team while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with legislative, governance and operational requirements.

This challenging and rewarding role combines strategic project management, leadership, recruitment oversight and business support functions. You will work closely with senior executives, legal practitioners and government stakeholders across agencies to deliver outcomes that support the DPP's ongoing success.

About You

You are an accomplished project professional with demonstrated experience leading complex projects in a government, legal or similarly regulated environment. You possess strong stakeholder engagement skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a proven capacity to influence outcomes across diverse business areas.

You will bring experience in:

• Leading complex projects from planning through to implementation and review.
• Managing recruitment activities and workforce-related initiatives.
• Developing policies, procedures and governance documentation.
• Budget management, procurement and contract administration.
• Leading and mentoring staff to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Building productive relationships with senior stakeholders and partner agencies.

Qualifications in project management, business, law or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Experience within the Northern Territory Government or a legal environment is advantageous.
