Job summary

ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We are delivering the Life of Type Extension to extend the Collins Class boats and supporting AUKUS submarine programs.

We seek a Senior Project Manager – Future Scope to lead delivery across bids, CCPs and strategic opportunities, ensuring scope, schedule, cost and governance are integrated and deliverable. You will coordinate across engineering, commercial and bid teams, validate plans and manage risks to ensure proposals meet objectives and government

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in a complex project environment at PM level; at least 5 years leading complex projects or portfolios.
• Proven experience leading the development of complex bids, proposals and CCPs in large, multifaceted environments.
• Strong capability to challenge, validate and optimize project schedules, resource plans, cost estimates and delivery strategies.
• Demonstrated success working across multidisciplinary teams, partnering with engineering, commercial, finance, project controls and delivery stakeholders.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess delivery feasibility, organizational capacity, risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Experience supporting major capital, Defence, engineering, infrastructure or business transformation programs, including governance and assurance activities.

• Identify, assess and manage delivery risks, assumptions, dependencies and opportunities throughout the bid development process.
• Act as the key link between bid teams, technical specialists and delivery stakeholders to ensure alignment across all proposal activities.
• Ensuring proposals meet governance requirements, support strategic objectives, and align with organisational capability.

About the Opportunity

Join the team helping deliver Australia's SSN AUKUS submarine build program. As Senior Project Manager – Future Scope, you'll provide project delivery leadership and assurance across complex bids, contract change proposals, and strategic opportunities, ensuring scope, schedule, resources, cost, risk, and delivery requirements are realistic, integrated, and aligned with organisational capability. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you'll help shape future work by ensuring proposals are executable, aligned with organisational capability, and meet governance and program requirements.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in technical, business or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a systems engineering, naval construction or complex asset management / development environment.
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a complex project environment at a Project Manager level (or equivalent), including at least five years demonstrated success in leading complex projects or portfolios.

• Proven experience leading the development of complex bids, proposals, contract variations and Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) in large, multifaceted environments.
• Strong capability to challenge, validate and optimize project schedules, resource plans, cost estimates and delivery strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
• Demonstrated success working across multidisciplinary teams, partnering with engineering, commercial, finance, project controls and delivery stakeholders.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess delivery feasibility, organizational capacity, risks, assumptions and dependencies.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
