Job summary

BHP is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead priority EME studies within its mobile equipment portfolio in Adelaide. You will drive study scoping, governance, and execution readiness from definition through to delivery, coordinating across engineering, operations, finance and external partners.

Key focus areas include MV(S) development, robust cost and schedule estimates, investment approvals, and effective stakeholder engagement to ensure practical, safe solutions aligned with business

Qualifications

• Extensive project management experience in asset-intensive environments.
• Experience leading engineering studies and project development.
• Proven ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, risk and governance.
• Experience preparing business cases and investment submissions.

Responsibilities

• Manage EME studies from initial need through completion and execution readiness.
• Develop study scope, objectives, deliverables, schedule, cost and governance requirements.
• Coordinate inputs across Engineering, EME, Operations, Maintenance, Technology, Finance, Procurement, OEMs and external providers.
• Facilitate option development to identify the best solution.
• Apply a Minimum Viable Solution approach, challenging unnecessary scope and CAPEX.
• Develop robust estimates, schedules, risk assessments and execution strategies.
• Prepare business cases and investment approvals documentation.
• Progress studies through governance and approval processes.
• Engage site stakeholders to ensure practical, operationally suitable solutions.
• Identify long-lead procurement and implementation requirements early.
• Ensure complete definition before transition into execution.
• Provide clear reporting, recommendations and issue escalation.
• Support handover from study into project execution.
