Job summary

Downer Group's Energy & Utilities seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead brownfield transmission projects across multiple sites in Australia. You will coordinate with construction managers, engineers and crews to safely deliver upgrades and live network works.

The role requires proven delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, strong stakeholder management, and travel to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide as needed.

Job description

THE ROLE

Join Downer's Power Projects team as a Senior Project Manager, where you will lead the delivery of brownfield transmission projects. This includes managing upgrades, augmentations, and live network works.

In this role, you will oversee complex site activities, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with contractual and operational requirements.

As this is a national role, we are open to candidates from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. You will report to the Project Director and spend time in the office and on-site, collaborating closely with a team of construction managers, project engineers, crew leaders, technical staff, and support personnel to efficiently deliver projects.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Lead delivery of brownfield transmission works including upgrades, cut-ins and augmentations.
• Manage project performance across safety, cost, schedule and quality outcomes.
• Oversee subcontractors, procurement and resource allocation.
• Drive risk, change and commercial management across the project lifecycle.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure compliance with project requirements.

ABOUT YOU

You are a results-driven project leader with a proven track record delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects. You bring technical strength, commercial acumen, and the ability to unite cross-functional teams under a common goal.

• A Trade or Engineering (Electrical or similar) qualification and/or a Diploma in Project Management.
• Experience delivering transmission or electrical infrastructure projects in ideally in brownfield environments.
• High proficiency with computers and relevant software.
• Superior communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and up and downstream.
• Available to travel and attend to site
